Grand Hotel Marriott's Dogwood CourseThe eighteen championship holes of the Dogwood Course wind in and around marshes and features a spectacular collection of par-3 holes. The green on the seventeenth hole is surrounded by water on three sides so the tee shotmust find the green.ÿ The course features 7,063 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.6 and it has a slope rating of 124 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Perry Maxwell, ASGCA/Joseph L.Lee, the Dogwood golf course reopened in 2004 after a complete renovation.First built in 1947, the Grand Hotel Marriott's Golf Courses showcase fairways lined with 200-year-old oaks and a dramatic signature hole, the 14th on the Azalea course. Recently restored, the new designs lend themselves to superbconditioning year round. With the addition or expansion of ten water features over the span of the 36 championship holes as well as other interesting architectural features, golfers are faced with decisions at every corner.Funded by the Retirement Systems of Alabama, the renovation of both courses brings them on par with many of the great resort golf courses in the country.
