Originally opened in 1998, The Oaks Golf Club is nestled amongst majestic timberlands and native wetlands providing one of the most unforgettable golfing experiences on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The striking par-72 layout is highlighted by strategic bunkering, dramatic green complexes and a meandering routing and creates a serene and tranquil golf experience. The Oaks has challenged some of the best players in the country as a former host of Nike Tour/Buy.com Tour events in 1999 and 2000 (now the PGA Tour's Nationwide Series) and having hosted the first stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 2003.
The Oaks Golf Club also known for having "Hooters Girls" refreshment cart staff. Clad in their traditional Hooters Girl uniforms, these beverage cart staff members provide refreshments and snacks for golfing guests at The Oaks. Golf Digest's 2008-2009 edition of their "Best Places You Can Play" guide recently honored The Oaks Golf Club with 4 1/2 stars. The star rating which is based on a one through five scale with four categorized as "outstanding" and five categorized as "superb". The Oaks Golf Club is no stranger to receiving such awards and accolades, including being honored by Golf Digest as one of the "Top Ten Courses" in Mississippi and being recognized as one of the Top 10 Values in Mississippi" by Golf Magazine. The Oaks has also been voted as the "Best Course on the Coast," by readers of Coast Magazine and selected as the 2003 "Golf Course of the Year for the Mississippi Gulf Coast," by the National Golf Course Owners Association. If you are in need of more of a challenge, there are forty-four treacherous bunkers sprinkled across the fairways and approaches to the greens. Once arriving at the green your challenges really begin. Our greens vary in both size and undulation and feature a putting surface so fast and smooth that you will quickly learn to do all you can to keep your ball below the hole.
