Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, High Hampton Inn has welcomed guests since 1922. Tucked away on 1,400 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the High Hampton Inn offers 120 guest rooms and suites in our main lodge and a selection of charming cottages, all within easy walking distance of dining, golf, tennis, the private 35-acre Hampton Lake, hiking trails and family and children's activity centers.
Our Golf Packages at this mountain estate have available lodging in double occupancy or single occupancy rooms in the lodge and/or various combinations in the Cottages Perfect for golf groups - High Hampton has 17 cottages that blend into the quiet landscape around the Inn and lake. Offering 1 to 14 bedrooms, the cottages are very popular with golf groups as they have a common meeting room in the 2 bedroom and larger cottages.
Quoted Rates are full American Plan, including three meals daily, unlimited golf, range balls, shared carts and all taxes. All guest rooms and cottages have been completely refurbished and updated to carefully retain their mountain character. All meals are served buffet style in the main dining room. After 6 pm gentlemen are required to wear a coat and tie in the lobby, dining room and Rock Mountain tavern. Ladies should wear appropriate attire such as skirts, dresses or nice pantsuits.
In classic shingle style, poplar and chestnut exteriors reflect the mountain setting and bring to mind the Great Camps of the Adirondacks. Interiors echo the great outdoors with natural wood from the High Hampton estate, applied in a board and batten pattern. Rustic and woodsy, yet elegant, guest rooms feature hand-hewn twig and mountain crafted furnishings and have a private bath. Many cottages offer in-suite or in-room fireplaces and screen porches, and all have stunning mountain and lake views.
Perhaps as well-know for the amenities it has as for those that it forgoes, the emphasis here is on enjoying the great outdoors and guests will find no televisions or telephones in their rooms. In a nod to the 21st century, wireless internet service is available throughout the public areas and guest rooms, and televisions and telephones are available in the lobby and common areas of the Inn for guests' use.
The Lodge Constructed completely of local materials in 1932, the main lodge is located on the site of the original Wade Hampton home. A gathering place for meals, cocktails and afternoon tea during the day, and after-dinner parlor and board games in the evening, the lodge is the social heart of High Hampton. Guests will always find a cozy fire warming the lobby and welcoming guests in the huge stone four-sided fireplace.
